Georgian Bay Hunters & Anglers believes in always trying to provide a better learning experience.  We are committed to your success and ensure plenty of time for one-on-one instructor student interaction.

Our courses are offered at competitive rates in our own GBHA club house.  Most students enjoy our smaller class sizes and casual, more comfortable setting with amenities like a wood-burning fireplace, complimentary coffee, doughnuts & lunch, plus large, modern washrooms.

We get a lot of positive feedback on our courses since, wherever possible, our instructors use PowerPoint presentations with embedded video clips, etc.  Our students tell us they find it to be a better learning experience when compared to other facilities where instructors often just read from the book or simply use overheads for the whole day.

CANADIAN FIREARMS SAFETY COURSE - P.A.L. (Possession & Acquisition Licence)

The P.A.L. (long-gun) course is a mandatory, legislated 10 hours in length followed by the Canadian Firearms Program written test and practical gun handling examination. The cost for this course is competitive and includes the cost of your examination.

Student manuals are available for your use free of charge, or if you wish, they may be purchased from the Firearms Safety Education Service of Ontario (FSESO) by simply calling their order desk at (705) 329-5559 & providing a credit card number, following which a manual will be sent directly to you (shipping is free). You may also download a free copy of the student manual from the Canadian Firearms Program website at www.cfc-cafc.gc.ca or the Ontario Firearms Safety Education Service at www.fseso.orgPre-study is not necessary as we teach the entire course content during your day. However, a review of the four vital "ACTS" relating to how to `PROVE" a firearm will give you a head-start to understanding the program and will make your day a bit easier.

Check-in is at 7:30 am & your P.A.L. (long gun) class begins at 8:00 am. Teaching ends around 6:00 pm & your written examination and practical testing will be completed somewhere between 7:00 to 9:00 pm based on individual needs.

CANADIAN RESTRICTED FIREARMS SAFETY COURSE (RESTRICTED P.A.L.)

The Restricted P.A.L. (handgun) course is a mandatory, legislated 10 hours in length followed by the Canadian Firearms Program written test and practical gun handling examination. The cost for this course is competitive and includes the cost of your examination.

If you have completed your non-restricted P.A.L. (long-gun) in the last 12 months, you are eligible to take a shortened 6-hour Restricted P.A.L. course.

Again, Restricted P.A.L. student manuals are available for your use free of charge, or if you wish, may be purchased from the Firearms Safety Education Service of Ontario (FSESO) by simply calling their order desk at (705) 329-5559 & providing a credit card number, following which a manual will be sent directly to you (shipping is free). You may also download a free copy of the student manual from the Canadian Firearms Program website at www.cfc-cafc.gc.ca or the Ontario Firearms Safety Education Service at www.fseso.org

Check-in for your Restricted P.A.L. (handgun) course is at 7:30 and class begins at 8:00 am. Teaching for the 10 hour course ends around 6:00 pm & your written examination and practical testing will be completed somewhere between 7:00 to 9:00 pm based on individual needs.
